This project is my college senior capstone project. Four other students and I are working to design an electromagnetic drone launcher for Kihomac. This project has expanded my understanding of new topics such as electrical engineering, controllers, and coding. One of my biggest contributions to the project is programming an application which determines the required magnetic layout for the drone launch.
This python code takes in many inputs such as drone weight, track length, and permanent magnet properties. Then it utilizes Biot-Savart law and Lorentz-Force Law to provide a magnetic layout that will provide enough electromagnetic force to the sled that satisfies the target exit velocity and maximum acceleration.
I wanted to make a cool bottle opener as a present for my in-laws. It has a custom CNC'd brass inlay. This project helped further my knowledge with SolidWorks, HSMworks, and tolerances.
Experimenting with tone is very fun for guitar players. As I purchased more and more guitar pedals I wanted to make a board for them. It is made out of wood and has a custom made handle and back panel.
My first project working on a guitar was completed recently on my first guitar that I received for my birthday when I was 12. I took it all apart and refinished the body. Then I installed a fully wired Steve Lukather pickguard. Finally I leveled, crowned, and polished the frets and fully set the guitar up. It's playability has increased tremendously and is super fun to play.
My wife has an absurd amount of earrings. Utilizing the tools at the USU Metal and Idea Factories I created her a customizable jewelry stand to help organize a big portion of her jewelry.
For my High School senior project two other students and I fitted a 212cc go kart into a Playmobil barbie jeep. It was a very fun project that involved welding, manufacturing, and a lot of creativity. It ended up not driving very well but was such a great experience to design and build with my friends.
In high school I found a blown-up, run-down 1986 CR125 for 200 dollars. After rebuilding it with a new engine from eBay and a bunch of cosmetic work I had a dirt bike that was a blast to ride!
I had an old rc car in high school that I traded for a beat-up go kart. I then fixed up and renovated that go kart to have a red and black theme. Me and my best friend Will rode our themed vehicles around for Halloween. Small kids wanted to have their picture taken with us, which was rewarding.
